How to schedule a donation pickup at SVdP
St. Vincent de Paul's thrift stores pride themselves on being an affordable place to get high-quality goods. From furniture to appliances, clothes, shoes, jewelry, books, toys, and many other household items and merchandise, many useful items are sold at the stores. The best part is the profits go toward SVdP's mission to feed, clothe, house, and heal our neighbors in need. Some items are even used to help furnish the homes or apartments of our shelter guests transitioning to permanent housing!
What often goes unnoticed is how St. Vincent de Paul stocks its thrift stores: Our thrift stores are completely dependent on donations from our generous community members. It's as easy as dropping off your donated items at any of our thrift store locations, or you can schedule a pickup at your house.
Director of Retail Operations Mike McClanahan walks us through the process to schedule a donation pickup and his team takes us on a couple of pickups to show us the process from start to finish. Click on the video above to go behind the scenes.
Two easy ways to schedule your pickup:
#1 Schedule online
- Go to this link to start the form for pickup.
- Decide if you want a standard pickup (for free!) or a Priority Pickup (for a small fee). A standard pickup will come to the desired location and take items if left in an open garage, carport or sidewalk. The Priority Pickup will provide staff to take items from inside the home.
- Enter your ZIP code and make sure that none of the items for donation are on our list of items that we're unable to accept.
- Select a time slot for our staff to make the pickup!
- On the day of the pickup, make sure large items are clean and small items are packed and ready.
#2 Call by phone
- Call 602-254-3338 for more information. Our donation call center is available Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30p.m. to take your calls and answer any questions.
