Earlier this week over 200 volunteers filled the Hall of Banners at St. Vincent de Paul for the nonprofit's annual Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon. The event celebrated the selflessness, commitment and hard work of SVdP's dedicated volunteers.

The special meal prepared by SVdP Head Chef Chris Hoffman and team included grilled chicken, seared tri-tip steak with roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes, honey-glazed carrots, and a refreshing Caesar salad.

SVdP's leadership and staff profusely thanked the volunteers, spotlighting those who’ve reached exciting service milestones (like 500+ hours, weekly shifts, or daily service). They also recognized several Gold Star volunteers who’ve made a significant impact in their service areas, including unexpected areas like Finance and Human Resources.

Director of Volunteer and Community Engagement Christina Gavin also had the joy of announcing a 29% increase in volunteers across the organization. SVdP is proud to have had over 15,000 volunteers serve alongside its staff in 2025.

"Volunteers are the heart of our mission," Christina said. "And what a difference we've made together. YOU, our volunteers, are the key drivers of our success, and we can't thank you enough."
