Offering a thousand thanks for 2024

SVdP is honored that these organizations supported our mission to feed, clothe, house, and heal
One of the greatest privileges of serving in Arizona is being able to work with a generous community of people who care about the well-being of our state. We are filled with hope and gratitude as we see our community rally and unify through a shared commitment to serve and to care about one another.

Over $500K in generosity

Community support leads to a record number of donations for Turkey Tuesday thanks to 12News, Bashas', Food City, and AJ's Fine Foods
Turkey Tuesday volunteers stand at one of the turkey drop off locations.

Thank you to Bashas’, Food City, and AJ’s Fine Foods, alongside all our amazing partners that made this year’s Turkey Tuesday another tremendous success for families in need in the Valley. Thanks to the in-store donations collected at the store registers; the storytelling and publicity from 12News; and the generous donations from corporate partners and community members; we were able to collect $844,603! That allowed thousands of families to be well-fed and nourished during a difficult holiday season for many, and we could not have done it without the community's support!

Mayo Clinic supports medical clinic in improving community health
A doctor at SVdP's Medical Clinic checks on a young patient.

Thanks to Mayo Clinic's generosity, SVdP is able to continue caring for individuals in need in our community while also training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

In addition to partnering with SVdP's Virginia G. Piper Medical Clinic, they made a generous $400,000 donation to support the healing and miracles that take place in our community everyday.

We are grateful to Mayo Clinic and all of the academic partners that provide access to quality medical and dental care in our clinics, including Arizona State University, A.T. Still University, Creighton University, Midwestern University, Phoenix College, Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture, Honor Health, Barrow Neuro Institute, and the University of Arizona.

Next Phase Supports the Next Generation
A Next Phase volunteer helps a student with a craft project.

Next Phase Enterprises has not only generously supported SVdP, they've heavily invested in the next generation of Arizonans. With more than 13 years of supporting the Dream Center at SVdP's Family Evening Meal, and a donation of $320,000 just last year, the Dream Center is more equipped than ever to help the tomorrow's leaders be the best they can be. Thank you so much Next Phase!

Millions of bottles of water brought in thanks to the ABC15 Water Drive partners
Water Drive logo

ABC15 and Bashas helped SVdP save thousands of lives this year through the annual ABC15 Water Drive. Thanks to ABC15’s extensive coverage, Bashas’ supply, and both of their generosity, the drive was able to bring in 1.4 million bottles of water, which were then distributed through SVdP’s dining rooms and Water Truck. The drive is more important than ever as the number of heat-related deaths continues to rise each year. Thank you again to our partners in the ABC15 Water Drive: You’re saving lives every day!

Rob Walton restores hope with a significant matching gift
Mark Curtis opens the 2024 Restoring Hope Breakfast.

The Restoring Hope Community Breakfast is SVdP’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and with the help of Rob Walton’s $250,000 matching gift, we were able to raise more than $1,000,000 that exciting morning. His generosity not only supports SVdP’s ability to change lives, but it energizes others to do the same with double the impact. In addition to his breakfast gift, he’s faithfully supported SVdP’s Rob and Melani Walton Urban Farm for several years and continues to support healthy, clean, locally grown food for our most vulnerable populations.

Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation supports workforce rehabilitation
The newly opened Rosalie's Place.

This year marked the opening of SVdP’s Rosalie’s Place, a transitional housing community for SVdP’s Workforce Development Program. It’s a special place with an emphasis on getting its guests trained, equipped, and into the workforce, and its day-to-day operations couldn’t go on without the incredible $200,000 in support from the Kemper and Ethel Marley Foundation. Thank you so much for making the life-changing work at Rosalie’s Place possible!

The Opus Group shows unwavering support for workforce development
A guest in Rosalie's Place sits on her new bed.

Thank you so much to The Opus Group, who is the longest supporter of SVdP’s Workforce Opportunities Program. From the start, they’ve believed in SVdP’s vision of helping sheltered individuals train and enter the workforce to build a more stable life for themselves, and they continued to aid the program with a gift of $150,000 this year. That’s perfect timing, as it helped with the opening of Rosalie’s Place, a transitional housing community focused on workforce development. Thank you, Opus, for your unwavering support and commitment to a life-changing vision!

Albertsons keeps bellies full and social workers paid
Emily Perales, one of SVdP's social workers, sits at her desk.

A huge shoutout to Albertsons Companies for years of reliable partnership, and specifically the $140,000 in support during 2024. Their support helped SVdP's Social Work Services Program connect vulnerable families with the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). With a focus on SVdP's "Feed" pillar, Albertsons also provided gift cards for food-insecure families served by SVdP dining rooms and pantries. This generosity helps keep families housed, provides food when they’re going through difficult periods, and offers life-saving resources in the direst circumstances. Thank you for bringing a light to so many in need!

T. W. Lewis Foundation supports SVdP’s day-to-day life-saving operations
A group of volunteers put together food boxes.

SVdP has dozens of programs and departments, that’s why it’s so important when partners like the T.W. Lewis Foundation support our general operations. With a generous $125,000, they supported every corner of SVdP’s extensive network of feeding, clothing, housing, and healing the most vulnerable in our community. Thanks so much to the T.W. Lewis Foundation for helping us keep our day-to-day operations going so our guests and clients can get back to a normal day-to-day themselves.

Mercy C.A.R.E.S. supports SVdP with diabetes prevention
A graphic showing a mother and daughter going through coupons together, with, "Thank you Mercy C.A.R.E.S." written underneath.

Mercy C.A.R.E.S. awarded SVdP a $104,000 Community Reinvestment Grant to support its Ben and Catherine Ivy Center for Family Wellness!

Thank you so much to Mercy C.A.R.E.S., for supporting us and caring about our community. The Center for Family Wellness will use the grant to increase access to diabetes prevention services and care to underserved families across the Valley. Every year, the center sees hundreds of families who otherwise would not have access to health and wellness services. Donations and grants are vital to sustaining our work!

Kuhle Family Foundations supports Homelessness Prevention in Arizona
Julio Gastelum and his family stand in their home.

The cost of rehousing a person experiencing homelessness – both financially and emotionally – is far more than just keeping a person in their home in the first place. That’s what the Kuhle Family Foundation knew when they gave a generous gift of $100,000 to SVdP’s Homelessness Prevention Program. Thank you so much for helping keep families together and safe in our community.

Republic Services funds new equipment to help feed thousands
Republic Services funds new kitchen equipment for SVdP

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Republic Services, who donated $100,000 for new kitchen equipment and a forklift!

Every day, our kitchen staff prepares more than 7,000 meals for people in need all across the Valley — and naturally that causes a tremendous amount of wear on our commercial kitchen equipment!

Along with the forklift, Republic Services' support specifically is funding new ovens in SVdP's industrial kitchen that cooks for SVdP's four charity dining rooms and delivers meals to over 30 community partner agencies. Thank you so much, Republic Services!

Burton Family Foundation helps keep families off the street and in their homes
Jesse Sandau, the recipient of help from the Homelessness Prevention program, stands in her home with her daughter.

The Burton Family Foundation gifted SVdP’s Homelessness Prevention program $100,000 to keep our neighbors in need off the street and in their homes. With more than half of Arizonans living paycheck-to-paycheck, just one unexpected bill can lead to eviction and homelessness for many. That’s why The Burton Family Foundation supported the program, which helps pay for unexpected expenses, and keeps families and homes together.

Vitalyst shows how vital it is to support eye care
A doctor examines a patient's eye in the SVdP Medical Clinic.

In Arizona, more than 25% of children have untreated or undetected vision problems, and nationally, 63% of people don’t have eye insurance. With such a need, we’re honored to receive a $90,000 grant from the Vitalyst Health Foundation to support eye care for the Valley’s uninsured population at the SVdP’s Virginia G. Piper Medical Clinic. Thanks to their help, the clinic can continue to make sure kids and adults alike are seeing 20/20 for the foreseeable future.

Celebrating the 2024 Challenge Cup for Charity

After a day of teeing off, live performances, patriotic parachuters, and more, the Challenge Cup for Charity's 16th Annual Golf Tournament raised $50,000 for SVdP to support its essential dental clinic, which benefits adults and kids without dental insurance across the Valley. Thank you so much to the Challenge Cup for Charity and its president, Stephanie Fox, for thinking of us!

Bank of America is helping prevent homelessness!
Representatives from Bank of America stand with a SVdP representative as they present a check for $30,000 for SVdP's Homelessness Prevention program.

Bank of America generously chose St. Vincent de Paul to be the recipient of one of its $30,000 grants to help prevent homelessness across the Valley. Thanks to their help, SVdP's homelessness prevention program will be able to keep more individuals and families in their homes with rent, mortgage and utility assistance!

It takes a community of gifts and talents both big and small to accomplish our work. A final thanks to all those who join in St. Vincent de Paul's mission to help feed, clothe, house, and heal. Every effort is much appreciated!
